Bioenergetic Testing
At Mississauga Bioenergetics, Bernadette carries out bioenergetic testing using a computerised testing system to measure the energy of the body at various acupressure points. Bioenergetic testing uses galvanic skin response measurements to quickly and non-invasively determine the energetic balances and imbalances within various bodily systems, providing the practitioner with an important tool to restore your health. Bioenergetic testing can detect low-level reactions within your body and also indicate nutritional, supplementation or homeopathic remedies which can be used to bring about an energy balance. There are no side-effects, no discomfort and no electrical impulses are felt.

At Mississauga Bioenergetics, Bernadette combines conventional nutritional assessment with state-of-the-art Bioenergetic Testing technolgy to assist you in maintaining good health before developing painful or uncomfortable symptons, as well as addressing the underlying causes of symptoms that have already developed.
This technology is similar to the Polygraph, Electrocardio-gram (ECG), Electroencephalogram (EEG), and other technologies that measure electrical energy of the body. It is not used to diagnose or treat disease as defined by conventional medicine, however many doctors recommend it. Bioenergetic testing allows early detection of tendencies toward disease, toxicity and imbalances due to various types of stress before they become outwardly manifested.
The process involves measuring electrical conductivity by touching on acupuncture points (meridian points) on the hands and feet using a handheld stylus. The results of testing are recorded and assessed by a sophisticated software program. Once energetic imbalances are identified, Bernadette will recommend appropriate foods, remedies, and /or lifestyle changes to help you reach optimum health.
Bioenergetic testing takes the guesswork out of what your
body needs or doesn't like, and can tell you and your health
practitioner more about the current state of your body's health. It can assess the effectiveness of supplements and treatment protocols you are currently undertaking. Biomeridian MSAS-Professional |

Many functional or energy medical devices are based on the research of Dr. Reinhard Voll, who established that there is a network of energy channels, called meridians, suffusing the body. In the 1950s, Dr. Voll (of Germany) designed a metering device for electrically measuring acupuncture points. Due to his extensive research, Voll is considered to be the father of Bioebergetics - also known as EAV Testing (Electro Acupuncture according to Voll). Dr. Volls device enabled him, as well as other practitioners, to locate and correct the source of energy imbalances. Modern devices such as the Biomeridian MSAS-Professional have now improved upon his principle by the addition of computerization.
Meridian points, some of which correlate to acupuncture points, can be used to collect energetic data (what we call Bioenergetic Testing). The electrical impedance is measured and recorded, at the acu-point, in order to provide the practitioner with information on potential energetic issues. The actual testing process is completed by applying a small (and indetectable to the subject) electrical current to specific acu-points. Different organs are associated with different energy meridians, and health problems in various organs are believed to manifest themselves as energetic disturbances in the associated meridians. Practitioners can suggest treatments to bring these energetic disturbances back into balance. |

Bernadette uses the Biomeridian MSAS-Professional device for Bioenergetic Testing. The MSAS-Professional is the worlds premier testing tool for measuring the bodys electrical conductivity variations along acu-points on the skin. Using the electronic probe, the MSAS-Professional reads the energetic value at the meridian points and transmits that signal to the computer. The associated computer software creates a graphic display for practitioners to evaluate and for clients to review, helping them better understand the energetic readings of their body. |

What should I expect during an examination?
The initial examination is performed by testing sixty different acu-points on both the hands and the feet which relate back to the energy channels and their related organs, systems, or functions. This testing does not involve needles, only a stylus is used to send a very small electrical current (not a shock) through each point, which is recorded and analyzed by the computer system. Be prepared to sit for up to an hour during this detailed examination, so wear comfortable clothing and relax. While there are hundreds of different acu-points on the human body, we generally use only points on the hands and the feet.
How many times will I have to be retested?
This will depend on your condition and concerns. Some clients may only need one consultation if they are in good health and have been conscientious about their health and nutrition. Other clients may need repeat visits until balance has been fully restored to all of your energy meridians. How long this will take depends on how far out of balance you are at the time of the initial exam, your compliance with the nutritional regimen recommended for you, and what your personal functional health goals are.
Is there anything I should do before being tested?
- If you are on medication(s), continue to take as prescribed but please make us aware of what you are taking
- Take your regular supplements as scheduled, again, make us aware of these
- Do not take herbal, homeopathic or pharmaceutical anti-fungals for 24 hours before the appointment unless medically prescribed
- Ideally (but only if possible), please fast for at least 3 hours before your test. Let us know when you last ate, and what you had to eat
- Drink plenty of water before the appointment. Dehydration makes it difficult to get accurate readings
- Please do not use any perfumes or chemical substances on the day of your appointment - this includes all skin lotions and hand creams
- Please come to the appointment in clothes that allow easy access to both hands and both feet
- Before we test your hands or your feet, we will ask you to rinse your feet (and hands) in an apple cider vinegar bath that we provide
